I've had this outft planned in my head for quite some time now and I'm so glad it turned out just as expected. I picked up both pieces for the Summer and even though they would look fab dressed up(which you might see later), I wanted to do a fun "Summer casual" look. These joggers are incredibly comfy and the neon crop top brings the entire look to life. I paired them with high tops and of course my favorite accessory: big hoops.
For this fourth of July post, I collaborated with a few other NJ Latina bloggers to give you some inspiration on what to wear this weekend.
I went with something casual that I wouldn't normally pair together: crop tops and short shorts. I have this rule where if I'm showing skin on top then I cover up the bottom and vice versa(anyone else follow this?) but sometimes rules are meant to be broken. Plus, I'm not ashamed to say that I've been kind of feeling myself lately haha! In the words of RuPaul "If you don't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?" Yes, I just quoted RuPaul and on that note I'm out.
Have a happy and safe 4th of July, Cupcakez!
Did you know that June is one of the most popular months to get married?
The official start of Summer is on it's way and along with that comes the many wedding invitations. As a wedding guest, one of the biggest things on our mind is what to wear. Here are a few ideas and tips featuring dresses that are all under $100!
I find cocktail attire the easiest to shop for. Simply because it's
nothing more than a short, fancy dress. Although it is the easiest, the
last thing you want is another dress to stick in the back of your
closet. While you're out shopping, remember to ask yourself if you could
possibly wear this to another event and always keep in mind that the
right accessories can make any simple dress a stunner.
For an outdoor wedding, try to find out what your surroundings are ahead of time
so you can look good yet be practical. Five inch stilettos in grass is not going to work. Instead, opt for a wedge or chunky
heel to keep you from sinking into the ground all night.
Beach/destination weddings are usually a bit more on the casual side. Whether you're going long or short, finding a fabric that is breathable and flowy is best instead of a structured or body hugging dress. Put on your best pair of flat sandals and have fun with color.
Imagine you're about to walk the red carpet.. now what would you wear? Black Tie is where you get to look like a million bucks, wearing evening gowns that graze the floor and jewelry that sparkles in soft lighting. Of course you never want to upstage the bride but keep in mind that you do want to look glamourous. A simple elegant gown with statement jewelry is the way to go.
*If the invite says "black tie optional", go for an embellished cocktail dress that hits the knee.
